Introduction to the City Rider 3🛹

I had a chance to try out the electric skateboard called the City Rider 3 from Meepo before its official release. It's great news for interested buyers that these skateboards are now readily available without any waiting period.

Price Point and Initial Impressions💲

Priced at $899, this electric skateboard offers fast and fun transportation for under $1,000. For safety due to my balance issues, I entrusted Blake from the bike shop to test ride the board. The City Rider 3 boasts impressive features, such as a dual motor system with each motor rated at 3,500 watts, contrary to my initial belief that this was the total output.

Riding Experience and Performance🚴‍♂️

The skateboard comes equipped with four speed settings and adjustable braking. It delivers a smooth ride even on rough pavements, managing cracks and small obstacles effortlessly due to its large wheel diameter. Despite my knee surgery, the ride felt akin to snowboarding, allowing for edge-to-edge cruising.

Interactions and Observations👀

Throughout the ride, people were considerate in sharing the road. Even when the trucks were set loose for better maneuvering, the skateboard maintained stability at around 20 mph. Its quiet operation only adds to the smooth experience.

Charging and Battery Life

The charging unit is quick, restoring half the battery in about 30 minutes, while a full charge takes roughly two hours. After the ride, the battery indicator still showed five bars, which is quite efficient considering the performance delivered during the test.

Design Features and Durability🎨

The skateboard features two kingpins on both front and rear, contributing to a comfortable ride over various terrains. The design includes concave shaping for better foot grip, enhancing control during turns.

Final Thoughts and Availability🏷️

In conclusion, the Meepo City Rider 3's sale price of $899 seems justifiable given its top speed of 29 mph, powerful dual motors, and a substantial 544 watt-hour battery with a realistic range of 21 miles. If you're interested in seeing it in person or taking it for a spin, they will be available at our new store location in downtown Grass Valley, California.

As an added note, once I get my motorcycle dyno operational, I plan to test electric skateboards like this one on it to quantify their power output. Stay tuned and subscribe for more updates!
