Electric Skateboard for Heavy Riders

What's The Best Electric Skateboard for Heavy Riders?

Electric skateboards for heavy riders can be fun, fast, and safe. Let’s look at how to choose an electric skateboard for heavier riders, what to look out for, and some pro tips.

When choosing an electric skateboard with remote for heavy riders, the four most important things to consider are:

  1. Rider weight vs. weight limit
  2. Power
  3. Riding Conditions
  4. Budget vs. Performance

Rider weight vs. weight limit

Each electric longboard is assigned a rider weight limit. Our skateboards range from 150 lbs (136 kg) to 300 lbs (136 kg) so the first step is to choose only boards with the 300 lbs weight limit. All of our boards, except for the Campus, are designed to carry riders up to 300 lbs in regular conditions.

Power

Are you looking for speed, power, and performance or a sweet cruise around town? There are many different board designs at the 300 lb weight limit. Heavy riders up to 300 lbs using Meepo can ride any board except for the Campus. Choose a board based on the experience you want to have. We recommend for the best experience for heavier riders is to select a board with a minimum of 2 x 540-watt engines. The V3, NLS-Pro, AWD-Pro, and City Rider are powerful and excellent choices for heavier riders. The new AWD-Pro will give heavy riders the most power, now featuring 4 x 540-watt hub motors! That's 2,160 watts total, making for one powerful ride!

Riding Conditions

Now that you know what your riding style is, add to the equation your riding conditions. Are you riding on flat bike trails, going up and down steep hills, or commuting in the street? For heavy riders looking or the most powerful versatile board, the AWD-Pro is the top of the line. With four motors providing top-notch all-wheel-drive, it’s the best for heavier riders climbing hills and needing braking power.

For heavier riders commuting with bumps and cracks, the City Rider could be the best choice. It comes with 6” wheels and is perfect for urban skating obstacles. Heavier riders looking for speed might prefer the NLS Pro or Meepo AWD-GT, both designed for power and maneuverability. Between the NLS Pro and AWD-GT is more powerful and comes with convenient skateboard handles or commuters. If you’re going to be riding to the bus, train, subway, but don’t want the City Rider, the AWD-Pro with its convenient handles would be a better choice than the NLS Pro.

Budget

Electric skateboards come in a range of prices and lucky for heavier riders, we offer boards in the $500 - $800 range that can hold up to 300 lbs (136 kg). While your budget is important, the price difference between some of our models is just $100. As a heavy rider, it’s important not to compromise so much that it might affect your riding experience.

The #1 board we recommend for heavy riders is the AWD-Pro. Check out this review of the AWD-Pro on YouTube:
