Zach recently became one of our brand ambassadors! He is 21 years old and resides in Long Island, New York! Zach works for an international fruit company and has been skating since he was 12 years old! For him, skating on his Meepo Board is always his “favorite part of the day!”
1. How did you first hear about Meepo?
I remember I found Meepo from looking up “cheap electric skateboard” on Google and it was the very first result! I was extremely happy and impressed with their speed statistics as well as the incredibly low price!
2. Describe your first ride.
My first ride was amazing! I put on my helmet, rolled the board down my driveway and it turned on all by itself! I turned on my remote and started off around my block! I was instantly impressed by the acceleration and road two full charges on my first day! I continue to ride both of my Meepo boards every dry day of the year!
3. What do you like most about your Meepo?
I love that my Meepo boards are very easy to customize! I have swapped my original Meepo Kicktail motors onto a different Deck and changed my Kicktail deck into an 8 wheel! Another great thing about Meepo is how reliable their products are! I have put over 1,000 miles on each of my boards and have never had a single issue. 🙂
4. Are you part of a local Meepo rider community?
I am part of @nyceboarding in New York City and there are many Meepo riders in that group! Even on my trip to Washington DC I met at least 5 other Meepo Owners! I am very happy to be part of the Meepo USA community and everyone I talk to always speaks highly of our Meepo boards! I ride with the NYC crew at least once a month and ride near my house every day!
5. Do you use your electric skateboard for commuting or for leisure travel?
BOTH! On some days I ride my Meepo board more than 10 miles in one direction to get to school or my job! When I get home for the day I plug in and eagerly wait to start my evening ride sessions! I normally ride at night due to less cars on the road and I always wear my helmet, pads and use appropriate lighting! I have saved myself a lot of money on gas since beginning my Eskate career!
6. What tip would you give to new riders?
For any new electric skateboard rider I would strongly recommend wearing a lot of safety gear!
I would recommend riding with tight trucks until you get used to the speed and power! Additionally, always ride at your own pace and in safe and legal areas! The more padding and safety equipment you use, the longer you will be riding your Meepo Board!
7. How do you envision electric skateboards in 2020?
I think that electric longboard could become a true major mode of transportation.
It would be a dream come true to have electric bike or skateboard lanes!
